Though none of my clothes are from Call It Spring, tomorrow is officially the start of spring across Canada. I know some Canadians won't agree because it literally is winter in other provinces with still below zero temperatures but the meteorologists said so. No more arguments! Hahahahaha! I am thankful I live in the prairies though because its starting to get warmer here at 3° Centigrade.
So when I went out yesterday for a photoshoot, I decided to wear my new faux leather jacket from Urban Planet given by my very generous Aunt.
Since Mr. Sun has decided to come out and be merry. I had to wear my sunnies from Aldo. I love how I can pair it with any of my outfits. The shape of the frame is not so common and since I've always loved gold its nice to have it on the temple area as an accent.
The gold case on my Macbook Air accidentally went well with the whole outfit like its a purse. I was in a hurry and was not able to charge my phone so I decided to bring it with me. Its like a big version of my little power bank.
This brown leather jacket will surely be my staple this season. I've always loved the many shades of brown like tawny, tan, beige and sienna. Its like connecting yourself to the ground and being grounded at the same time.
I also wore my Stan Smith's by Adidas. One of the first shoes I bought here in Regina. I got it from Coda and has been a major shoe for Sunday masses and places where I have to be a little boyish like trainings and job interviews.
Another thing I experimented on is this pair of Levi's Jeans gone distressed. It gives the whole outfit a fresh and edgy look. I know though that my mom is going to be so stressed and distressed seeing these jeans in its tattered glory.
I chose a lighter shade for my inner shirt. I got it from Gap. I love how it does not outshine the beauty of the jacket. My style principle is to always have one piece of the outfit standout and let the other pieces compliment it. I break my own principle by wearing every single statement piece at times but most of the time I stick with the first. These are days when I feel that I can just getaway with whatever I want to wear.
I am very fond of color coordination. So when I wear brown shoes there has to have something brown on my outfit. I used to have a dress-up rule that the color of the belt should be the same as the color of the shoes. I've always thought that it is the safest way to dress up. I find comfort in convention.
You can't go on buying expensive stuff because what may work for others may not work for you. Have your own style and don't be afraid to experiment.
Do you have any style principles you wanna share? Feel free to drop a comment. I always like hearing from my readers.
Enjoy the rest of the spring days!
PS. Special thanks to my cousin, Shen, for driving and taking the photos. You should really get into photography ASAP. You've got talent, Lady! I'm hiring you to join #teamvitorivita.
