If you are the kind of person who takes "Netflix and chill" seriously, there is only one show you should watch - The Last Kingdom.
The Last Kingdom is a British television series from the same people that gave us Downton Abbey. The eight-part adaptation of Bernard Cornwell’s historical novels series The Saxon Stories premiered last October 2015 on BBC America and has been on my Netflix "To Watch" List for a week.
The story revolved around the attack of the Vikings on the Anglo-Saxons. Rotten Tomatoes tells it this way, "Uhtred, born a Saxon but raised by Vikings, finds his loyalties tested as he tries to claim his birthright and help create a new nation."
So what's so charming about the TV series? Let's see what the critics are saying.
TV Guide Magazine's Matt Roush wrote, "This is smart, satisfying entertainment that brings new life to ancient history."
Ray Rahman of Entertainment Weekly even said that the shifting allegiances and unpredictable motives are what keeps this sometimes hoary show compelling.
And why does VitoriVita like it so much?
I like it because the cinematography was jaw-droppingly gorgeous and the storytelling was impeccably understandable and entertaining even to those who have no prior reading on the history of England.
Alexander Dreymon aka Uhtred of Bebbanburg, the main character of the TV series is an eye-candy and I don't mean to be shallow but he is very irresistible.
I also found out that he made a movie with the Fil-Aussie actress Anne Curtis-Smith, Blood Ransom. I remember admiring the handsome guy from Anne's promotional Instragram photo but never thought he'd be given the chance to star in a very big production like The Last Kingdom.
I cannot wait for Season 2. So while waiting for the next season you can binge-watch the first season of this popular TV series. I assure you that it will not disappoint.

'Til my next post!
So Canada has changed me a lot. Aside from working on Friday nights, I also insist on binge-watching Netflix-original series on my Friday nights sans work. That's letting go of the clubs and all the booze. I'm saying as if I really drink when all I do is dance or should I say dance crazily in clubs because clubbing is all about butts now! I got that line from the series!
But let me tell you that its not just any series! Its the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt on Netflix.
Oh my gosh! It is so hilarious you won't feel guilty for not doing your laundry or your cooking or whatever it is that you have planned on that day or in the coming days.
I checked out Twitter to see if its trending! And everybody feels the same way. I really thought I might have changed my taste in humour. So glad it is still intact!
I cannot stop raving about it on my five Whatsapp groups. I wish we all live in North America so everybody gets the chance to watch this series! So please, be thankful you are in North America (If you are!) and you have Netflix or at least its never too late to register for it or maybe just ask someone who has Netflix. Gosh! I forgot the use of commas and periods there because I am in a rush to watch the tenth episode of the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.
If you don't believe me, you have got to watch the trailer.
A weekend with the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is a weekend well-spent!
Enjoy watching and this better be your new favourite. And do let me know what you think about this new show!
OMG! I think I have just discovered the best coffee place in Regina. Clap! Snap! Clap! Say hello to the naked bean espresso bar and cafe.
The last time I came here it was closed and it made me feel sad because I've always wanted to check out this chic coffee shop. It looked so chic from the outside starting with the font they used for the store label. But now that its open, I couldn't control my giggling. I was just so giddy and the moment I came in it did not disappoint.
I asked my friend Kristine to model for the coffee shop before digging in on a naked bean. Her winter jacket is my favourite.
I could't agree more with what this chalk board is saying and let's add a pinch of tête-à-tête with good friends and I'm good to go!
I am loving the indoor street lamps. Its like having coffee outdoors without subjecting yourself to freezing temperatures.
Cozy seats are a must. Don't you think? I can imagine myself doing an indian sit when nobody's watching.
Caffeine and desserts are life's best discoveries. I went all away with whip cream. A life lived with no regrets. Hahahahaha!
I brought my laptop with me because I really wanted to blog while having coffee but Kristine and I had so many interesting stuff to discuss that I had to skip it. The blog can wait a little while.
I can say that I live for days like these. A day where all you do is enjoy what's around you and let a little time pass. I call this stepping back and experiencing life without being the centre of its revolution. But I guess, we all need to have bad and busy days so we get to appreciate the good ones.
If you've been to naked bean and would like to share the experience, please drop a comment. Otherwise, all comments are welcome anyway. Let me know what you're looking for in a coffee shop. I'd like to hear from you.
