Seems like everyone's in Japan or is going to Japan. My instagram feed is full of Japanese visas, Samurais, and Japanese people. And I totally love it! I have such good memories of Tokyo, Nagoya, and Mt. Fuji! Sometimes the thought of it makes me cry. Awww.
Let's go down memory lane and join me as I recall my Japanese adventure in 2013!
Pixelated photo alert! Skinny me alert! Everything's alert except for this photo of me. Hahahahaha! Super early Delta Airline flights make me sleepy.
I had a very comfortable flight from Manila to Nagoya because I had all the extra leg room I needed. The moment I got out of the plane, I was hungry already but unfortunately I did not want to break down my Japanese Yen just yet because all I saw were vending machines and everything looked expensive. Hahahahaha!
We had lunch at a pasta place in the airport. I can't remember if it was Italian but everything was good.
We took a train from Nagoya International Airport going to the the Shinkansen Terminal for Tokyo. I had to take off my blazer because Japan in August is super duper warm.
I like the chic bag of the Japanese lady beside me.
We needed some coolers for the hot weather. Green Tea! Starbucks!
MRT staff should wear this uniform. So classy!
Bullet train is here! Can't wait to step inside!
A handsome seat mate wouldn't hurt. Right?
The bullet train experience was really pleasurable. Hardly noticed that the train was even moving. I was just in pure awe at it. Everything was just too nice. I wanna take pictures of everything. Make videos and freeze the moment.
Arrived in Tokyo after about an hour. It is so amazing! By car, it takes about 4 hours but the bullet train cuts the travel into half the time. Though more expensive, I find it very convenient.
Tokyo Station is lovely!
The Tokyo Station ceiling was so beautiful.
Took a cab from Tokyo Station to the Prudential Tower Residences, our home for the next 9 days. Expensive cabs! Hoooooh! So glad I was not paying for it then.
Home at last!
The view from the window was extremely impressive. The Tokyo skyline!
And when it was time to sleep, I thought I will have to wake up now from a very nice dream.
That was just day one and I still have eight more days of adventure I want to share with all of you. Sometimes its really nice to look back. And it makes you think where your wandering feet takes you in the future.
I hope to hear from you!
Lots of love...
OMG! I think I have just discovered the best coffee place in Regina. Clap! Snap! Clap! Say hello to the naked bean espresso bar and cafe.
The last time I came here it was closed and it made me feel sad because I've always wanted to check out this chic coffee shop. It looked so chic from the outside starting with the font they used for the store label. But now that its open, I couldn't control my giggling. I was just so giddy and the moment I came in it did not disappoint.
I asked my friend Kristine to model for the coffee shop before digging in on a naked bean. Her winter jacket is my favourite.
I could't agree more with what this chalk board is saying and let's add a pinch of tête-à-tête with good friends and I'm good to go!
I am loving the indoor street lamps. Its like having coffee outdoors without subjecting yourself to freezing temperatures.
Cozy seats are a must. Don't you think? I can imagine myself doing an indian sit when nobody's watching.
Caffeine and desserts are life's best discoveries. I went all away with whip cream. A life lived with no regrets. Hahahahaha!
I brought my laptop with me because I really wanted to blog while having coffee but Kristine and I had so many interesting stuff to discuss that I had to skip it. The blog can wait a little while.
I can say that I live for days like these. A day where all you do is enjoy what's around you and let a little time pass. I call this stepping back and experiencing life without being the centre of its revolution. But I guess, we all need to have bad and busy days so we get to appreciate the good ones.
If you've been to naked bean and would like to share the experience, please drop a comment. Otherwise, all comments are welcome anyway. Let me know what you're looking for in a coffee shop. I'd like to hear from you.

Have you had that feeling when you wake up in the morning and you want to just buy the world! Oh my gosh! You have become so worldly, VitoriVita! I am kidding.
But there was that one day, where I woke up and I had that weird urge to shop. Maybe I was dreaming of Phillip Lim, Alexander Wang, Balenciaga, Carven and Givenchy that whole night. The truth was, I lacked sleep. Unfortunately, I was from a night shift.
VROOM! The car purred to life as soon as I got in on Tin's car and we drove to shopping-phoria. I'm glad I found a friend in her. Our combination can be quite deadly though because we take pride in drooling at each other's purchases. Always stay away from these kind of friends or be with them and rob a bank in no time. Hahahahaha!
First stop? WINNERS! It was such a disappointment. There was nothing I totally like that I was willing to splurge on. But I did snap some gorgeous selfies at the dressing room. Shhhhh!
I was in the mood for shopping but I was not up for an unreasonable one. I only wanted to spend on stuff that I really really like. So we bought chocolates instead!
By the time we went out of Winners, I could say famished is an understatement. Because we were very hungry. Having no sense of direction anymore, we drove to Five Guys!
Five Guys Burger and Fries is a fast-food chain I've never heard of until my arrival in Regina. I even thought it was a casual dining kind of restaurant. I was very sad and hungry. As soon as I stepped in, I can smell cholesterol, sodium, and all things bad. There were even fries scattered on the floor considering that the place was not busy at that time - a Monday afternoon.
I ordered a regular cheeseburger and I couldn't be more excited to see what's the rave about the "fresh" ingredients they put in to make yummy burgers.
Deym! I was like, "Oh my gosh! This is sooooooo good!" No wonder why US President Barack Obama likes their burgers. Check out the video!
Suddenly, the scattered fries on the restaurant floor were forgivable and I was happy again. How the place looked like didn't even matter at all. All I saw were happy faces of customers as they take each bite of their juicy burgers. Yum!
And off we went to downtown Regina for some more shopping! We cared less if we'll ever find what we wanted because the burger-induced endorphins were enough to keep us happy for the next few more hours.
