As a tireless talker and a hyperactive dancer , it is not very surprising how I ended up becoming an events host here in Regina. My first ever legit hosting gig was a "Singled Out"-inspired dating segment during a big celebration at the university. For my young readers, Singled Out was a dating game show on MTV in the 90's. I had to put my good-looking friends on the spot and made them look for love for the enjoyment of a thousand giggly eyes. Until this very moment, I still don't know how I was able to convince them to come on stage and be a part of it. When you're in college, you do things because you want to give it a shot or either there is a group of people pushing you to do things aka peer-pressure! When I had that hosting gig, I did not gyrate to my heart's content. I was just making fun of myself and just kept blabbering on stage. I wish I showed them my killer moves then and what could have changed.
Fast forward to 2016 and I have gone all out on my craziness on stage. I feel that it is part of entertaining and I am actually happy to be able to do it. The stage makes me feel alive and you guys know that I always go to where I feel most alive. Most recently, I hosted Ethel Booba's concert at the Orr Centre here in Regina. The show was aptly titled The Magic of Ethel Booba Canada Laftrip 2016. Below are the photos from the event:

Yes, we live in the Canadian prairies! And this is the part of the prairies that is filled with so much style and we breathe and eat fashion - at least I do.
Here's a cavalcade of style at the #skfw2016 red carpet.
Travis Landry (left) and Greg Schwartz (right) made dressing-up for straight guys look like its not a task. These guys looked so polished-cool!
Krystal-lee Drage (left) rocked this stunning burgundy gown matched with an understated necklace.
Daniel Pritchard (center) looked sharp in his blue coat and tie. Candyce Fiessel's (right) effortlessly elegant dress stood-out at the red carpet.
Yaya Wang's jumpsuit is everything and Trevor Green doing low-key made this couple simply awesome.
Fashion retailers, Shalene Pederson (left) and Carleen Rozon (right) graced the red-carpet in style. Shalene broke the monotony of the black number with her coral-colored long cardigan while Carleen brought the choker back that goes so nicely with her lace sleeveless top and a pair of cocktail-party pants. These two beautiful ladies own Uforia Muse.
These swoon-worthy models Hailey Reoch and Ryan lit the SKFW 2016 red carpet. I like how they adore each other so much and their styles compliment each other really well.
Designer Beryl Wong (left) got me wondering where she got her gown because she looked really beautiful on this dress. My guess is Laurie Brown?
Model Joseph Siriban looked "en pointe" in his no-tie ensemble.
I was quite a drinker at the fashion week this year so all I did was drink some alcohol and danced during the breaks. I did not quite get the names of most people and if I did, I might have forgotten it already.
What I like about this all-black-everything-in-all-textures outfit by the guy is that he was able to rock it. I felt that he just sticked with his gut-feel and walked confidently on the red carpet. And man, it totally worked. The lady in a sequined-top is the queen! I love everything that glitters. Though some may say that not all that glitters is gold but they sure look like a much bigger version of those pixie dust particles ready to make me fly with my happy thoughts. If you find this couple, please let them know they landed on this gorgeous list!
Holly Horvath from Teach Me Style looked gorgeous on this bead-me-like-there-is-no-tomorrow number. Meanwhile, the wires from my purse came out to party as well.
Chinena Siriban showing-off her long legs at the red carpet. She looked so pretty and effortless and that's a lady who gave birth a month earlier. Beat that!
The above video shows us being ourselves! Just a friendly note, if you did not see yourself on the list, its not because you did not dress up fabulously. You might have had a beautiful dress but it just wasn't photogenic enough to make it on this list. Now I wished, I would have come up to you and took photos of you while you were not on the red carpet but because I did not - let's just enjoy this list. Next year, I'll be more sociable so I can take more photos. Please don't punish me for having too much fun and totally forgot that I had to blog after. Most red carpet photos were from the Sask Fashion Week Facebook Page. Which of the looks did you like best? Will you land on my best-dressed list next year? Let me know in the comments below!
Turning 31 has never been this fabulous and I couldn't be more thankful to God for all the blessings that he has kept on showering me. Thankful that no matter how bad I've been, he never grew tired of giving me the everything He thinks I deserve.
They say all we need is love and I got it. Who would have thought that my Mom will be able to make a birthday collage for me on Facebook. That's so rare! But the photos she chose were a little embarrassing but never short of love.
I have always believed that we get what we give. I must have given so much love for the world has loved me more than I can imagine. These birthday greetings from my friends all over the world were more than enough to let me feel it.
And though I've only been in Regina for a year and 4 months, my Regina friends did not fail to show me some love too.
I've never really wished for some more gifts because love was just enough. However, when I saw gift boxes I couldn't help but be so giddy to open it just like a little kid.
Here are the gifts I received last Christmas and some gifts I got from my birthday. You may find this useful for yourself or get an idea on what to give to your friends on their special day too. My cousin-in-law, Mae, knew that I always show up at work without a pen in my purse or pocket. So when I find a lonely pen on a table, I adopt it. Hahahahahaha!!! She probably felt that I should stop adopting pens and its time to bring my own pen at work. I got three pens and its on the photo below. I also got a Born Lippy lip balm and a travel-sized Mango Shower Gel both from The Body Shop. I am really hoping that I'd get to use the lip balm because I tend to lose it a lot because of its size. I can't afford to lose it though because the harsh, dry and cold winter prairie winds have been giving me chapped lips. Click HERE to get to The Body Shop Canada. To be honest, I have not been very vocal about this but I actually like shower gels. They leave very little residue on your skin allowing it to absorb other things you apply on it. This cute Chanel-inspired-perfume-bottle iPhone 6 case from Ardene is so lovely! I like how its transparent and gold. You can never go wrong with these colors. I tried to see if its still available on their online store but looks like its been sold out. But you can click HERE to find other cool iPhone 6 / 6s cases at Ardene.
She also knew that I have a weird addiction to Reese's Pieces. Not everybody can relate to peanut butter cups, right? So for PLM (People Like Me) click HERE to have your sweet tooth cravings gratified.
Raffaello's, from the makers of Ferrero Rocher, are my favorite too. Its the closest I can ever get to tasting the tropics. And you can have it delivered on your doorstep via Amazon! Click HERE!
Ate Eds, one of my friends from my first workplace since I arrived in Canada gave me something to warm me up this season. Crimson is the color of love! I think she knitted this on her own. That I will have to confirm though.
I think I can really be a good matchmaker someday because I did a very good job on these two - Joanne and RJ! They knew I am a big fan of not-so-common sunglasses. So they gave me something from Zumiez.
I always ran out of battery and always charging wherever I get the chance to. I don't care if its in a restaurant, a car, or just anywhere. My mantra? "I need my phone charged. NOW!" I am just being a true millennial. So Jeff being my only gay friend in Canada was so thoughtful! He gave me this 4400 mAh power bank from PDI. In layman's terminology, it can fully charge a smartphone 2.5x. Sounds good to me! I can post more videos on Snapchat, pictures on Instagram, and just a whole bunch of things. Just because my fingers won't stop tinkering on something. You can do the same by getting your own power bank. Click HERE!
Friendships can actually be the most random of all things. I came to know a friend named Mye from last year's Erik Santos and Angeline Quinto Concert here in Regina. I hosted that concert too. She was just the sweetest and the most generous! She gave me these sunglasses. One is from Aldo and the Prada was from her trip to the US last August. I love the sunglasses so much! I have an endless choice of sunglasses already and I cannot complain. I love it a lot!
You know how the Sephora ladies seem to know so many things about beauty and all you do is listen to them. I listen to them a lot and they have never disappointed me at any point. I think they are the most helpful even in full make-up glory.
I received my first Sephora birthday gift EVER - a luxurious Peter Thomas Roth Anti-Aging Cleansing Gel and Cucumber Gel Mask! I've been using First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser and I actually loved it until I lost it somewhere. I don't know where I have left it. Probably left it at my old apartment. So this new product they gave me was just amazing and it came at the right time. I can't wait to give it a try and do a much more in-depth review of this product.
This is actually a Christmas gift I got from my Secret Santa, Joanne. She bought it from Sephora too. I would like to call her a not-so-secret secret santa because she was actually very vocal that she was my secret santa and the whole time I thought she was just joking. Until I opened the gift and got myself a 1 Million Deluxe by Paco Rabanne. Personally, I wouldn't have picked it for myself but it always excites me what someone will come up with as a gift when they think of me. I love surprises and this was a million dollar smelling one. Kaching!
Another sweet surprise are these Kate Spade swag from Airah and Rizzia! I love Kate Spade so much. I think it is one of the chic-est brands without even trying to be one. I like how its expensive but not-outlandish expensive compared to all the other luxury brands out there.
Gift-giving won't be complete without having to gift myself. Hahahahahaha!!! I know! I love gifting myself so much. I call it self-love! All because we work hard and we have to treat ourselves to something that makes you feel a little vindicated. That was a big word! VINDICATED!
So I got myself a Ray-Ban sunglasses because I think its a style staple. I can get out of the house wearing a white shirt and a black pair of shorts and white sneakers and still look on-point! I got it from Spareparts and it came with a hard case from the store with its pretty lens cleaner. I think its my best-buy this season. I am super loving this!
Thank you so much guys for reading. I hope you had a good holiday. I had such a great time in Regina though I was working on those days you were off. But I can't complain, I love what I'm doing and I love getting paid. Hahahahahaha!!!
Please click like, share, or comment on this photo. I would really want to hear what you think about this post. Hope to see you guys soon! VitoriVita's always open! Have a great day! Love, |
